Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

Who should attend this course?

The course has been designed for students at the beginning of their IT career. Recent graduates, current help desk employees and those students looking for a career change.

Any experience with any of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems would be beneficial, however completion of Microsoft Exam 70-270 will increase the effectiveness of the exercises.

 

Duration

5 days (full time)
9:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (lunch and refreshments provided)

 

Course Content

The course consists of practical exercises that build your understanding and experience of managing and maintaining a Windows Server 2003 environment, while preparing you for the Microsoft 70-290 certification exam.

Students who successfully pass this exam will be awarded an MCP from Microsoft and will have completed one of the required exams towards their MCSA/MCSE.

  • Managing User and Computer Accounts
  • Managing Groups

Day 2

  • Managing Access to Resources
  • Managing Access to Objects in Organizational Units
  • Implementing Group Policy

Day 3

  • Managing the User Environment by Using Group Policy
  • Implementing Administrative Templates and Audit Policy
  • Preparing to Administer a Server

Day 4

  • Preparing to Administer a Server
  • Preparing to Monitor Server Performance
  • Managing Data Storage

Day 5

  • Managing Disaster Recovery
  • Maintaining Software by Using Windows Server Update Services
  • Securing Windows Server 2003
