Who should attend this course?
The course has been designed for students at the beginning of their IT career. Recent graduates, current help desk employees and those students looking for a career change.
Any experience with any of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems would be beneficial, however is not a prerequisite for attending the course.
Duration
5 days (full time)
9:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (lunch and refreshments provided)
Course Content
The course consists of practical exercises that build your understanding and experience of managing Windows XP in a corporate environment, while preparing you for the Microsoft 70-270 certification exam.
Students who successfully pass this exam will be awarded an MCP from Microsoft and will have completed one of the required exams towards their MCSA/MCSE.
Day 1
- Installing Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Automating an installation of Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Day 2
- Configuring Hardware on a Computer Running Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Managing Disks
Day 3
- Configuring and Managing File Systems
- Troubleshooting the Boot Process and Other System Issues.
Day 4
- Configuring the Desktop Environment
- Configuring the TCP/IP Addressing and Name Resolution
- Configuring Microsoft Windows XP Professional to Operate in Microsoft Windows Networks
Day 5
- Supporting Remote Users
- Configuring Windows XP Professional for Mobile Computing
- Monitoring Resources and Performance
